Top 5 online Nursing programs.

There are approximately 679 Bachelors of Science in Nursing programs throughout the country with around 400 of them being online or partially online. It is safe to say that online programs are becoming more prevalent and convenient for prospecting students. If you are not sure if Nursing is for you, keep an eye out for a later post explaining the projected pathway for Nurses in the upcoming years. There are different types of online programs but Im sure that if you are researching online nursing programs and have been led to my post, you are probably aware of them, but I will shortly explain below.

There are online associate programs that will earn you your RN within 2 years. However, associate degrees are becoming less marketable and these students are generally hired based on a contingency of having to attain your BSN (Bachelors) within a certain time frame.

The pro’s of this type of program are: Generally a cheaper option and could be attained at a community college. If you get hired by a hospital they might pay for the Bachelors degree or help you partially.

There are online bachelor programs for students who are incoming freshmen or even accelerated programs for students who already have a degree. This is the same for Masters and Doctorate programs as well. These could all be done part time or full time, but remember, you will always have to attend clinical in person at one point of your online degree.

A fully accredited nursing program by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing via the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

  • GRE required for specific graduate programs
  • 12 month bachelor’s program.
  • 3 on-campus visits are required.

  • Programs can be completed in 2 years.
  • No on campus requirements.
