4 Tips on managing stress for Nurses

I recently took to Instagram (@NurseViews), to ask the nurses to message me with how they manage the stress that comes with being a nurse. Here are the four top responses that I received.

1. Exercise

This was the #1 response to my question. It is no secret that exercising daily improves mood, relieves stress, and has many other health benefits. The best part is that there are many different options you can choose from. You don’t have to be an Instagram FitFam, FitChick, Lift Heavy, Train Hard Bro, to get your exercise on. Line your Chakras up and try some yoga, channel your inner Bruce Lee and join a martial arts gym, go mountain biking down Mt. Everest. You get the point. Go get your heart rate up.

 

2. Get outside.

Get outside and do something. Go for a hike, get to the beach, climb a f*cking mountain. Get some fresh air and some Vitamin D and relax.

 

3. Go out with friends from work.

Some people are fortunate enough to not hate every single person that they work with. If you have a few friends from work you wouldn’t mind seeing if you weren’t getting paid, get together, have a drink, order some food, and talk sh*t about work. Trust me, you’ll feel better.

 

4.  TREAT YO SELF.

Get your nails done, get a pedicure, get your hair did, go shopping, get a massage, etc. You deserve it.
